R Venkat Reddy, National Convener, M.V.Foundation
R. Venkat Reddy is a nationally respected child rights activist and the driving force behind the M. V. Foundation’s transformative work across India. With a deep commitment to ending child labour and ensuring every child’s right to education, he has led efforts that have mainstreamed more than one million children into formal schools.
Under his leadership, MVF has grown from a grassroots initiative in three villages of Telangana to a national movement covering more than 10,000 villages across multiple states. His pioneering Area-Based Approach to create Child Labour Free Zones has influenced both national policy and global campaigns, with impact extending to Europe,Africa and beyond.
Mr. Reddy is known for his ability to build community-led movements, work closely with governments, and mentor youth and grassroots leaders. He currently serves as an advisor to the Telangana State Education Commission and continues to advocate for a more inclusive and democratic education system in India.
Sri Kusam Raja Mouli garu, Adarsha Sarpanch
Sri Kusam Rajamouli (KR) is well known for the Community Development through inclusive efforts of People’s Participation and honoured with “Best Sarpanch Award” for carving a hamlet Gangadevipalli into Gram Panchayat and “Model Gram Panchayat” in Geesugonda Mandal, Warangal District, Telangana, India. He has no academic degrees to his credit, but his vision and mission for the overall development of his native village “Gangadevipalli” is a lesson provided in the Social Studies Textbook to the students of VI Class from 2012 onwards in AP and Telangana States.
Because of his significant efforts, remarkable and inspiring achievements in providing Domestic and Drinking Water facilities to all the families by establishing two Tanks and RO Water Plant with the support and guidance of an NGO “Bala Vikasa” through people’s participation, and 100% Tax Collections, Toilets to every household and ODF village, Gangadevipalli has been honoured by Mandal, District, State and National Governments with “Best Gram Panchayat Awards”, including “Nirmal Gram Panchayat Award” in 2007, “Shubram Award” in 2008, “Open Defecation Free (ODF) Award” in 2007 at Warangal District level, by LIC of India with “Bheema Gram”, by Google Organisation with “Best Google Gram Panchayat” in January 2010 and lot more.
Initially, Mr Kusam Rajamouli was elected President and Managing Director for Andhra Bank Farmers Service Cooperative Society, Ookal (Haveli), from 28/09/1983 to 28/01/1992. During this period, he made noteworthy achievements in developing the farmers’ society in purchasing 4 acres of prime land abutting the Warangal-Narsampet Main Road, establishing Godowns, Ginning Mill, Headquarters for its own business by providing better quality products like seeds, fertilisers, spraying machines, etc. so as to render the best services to the farmers.
Later, Mr Kusam Rajamouli motivated his wife Smt Kusam Lalitha and other women to take part in running Gram Panchayat as Sarpanch and Ward Members for two terms (1995-2006). He served as elected Sarpanch and Upa-Sarpanch for Gangadevipalli from the years 2006 to 2016. He brought laurels to Gangadevipalli from across the Globe in community development by dedicating his life in the service of people. So, he was awarded with so many prizes, appreciated and honoured by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, Shri K.Chandrasekhar Rao and many others on different occasions. Representatives from about 90 countries and trainees of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Group-I & II of the State, etc. had visited this village to see the progress and developments with their own eyes.
Mr Kusam Rajamouli has made significant contributions in inspiring the elected sarpanches to achieve “Gram Swaraj” through community participation for every activity in accordance with the spirit of our Constitution. He is a strong advocate of ‘empowering the villages and local-self governance’.
He is now actively associated with the Project - Challenge-119, initiated by the Justice Movement of India with an objective to make about 119 Gram Panchayats as the Model Gram Panchayats by the year 2030 in the State of Telangana.
